Well if you are like me, you don't want to upgrade to ios6 for reasons we won't discuss here. To say we now support the iPad BUT you must use ios6, is like saying "we've solved you never having to wax again... It only cost $7,000". Seriously? There is ZERO reason not to support iOS 5 & 6, unless you are using a developer taking advantage of your ignorance. To make matters worse, I wanted to let them know directly vs here. NOPE Facebook account required. Oh, every single human being on the Internet requires a fb account. Find Steve Jobs personal fb, you WON'T. How about having a some email form for the rest of us that don't use fb for communication? This tells me either it's kids running the show or ignorant adults. Why two stars, effort great app for the 100MM ios5 users, that can't upgrade.
After trying all the snow apps I could find in the App Store, this one was a pleasant surprise. I was really happy to find such a clear interface and way to add favorites. It's just not cluttered with all sorts of junk and it really lets you see the information you care about (new snow, lifts open etc) easily. Very nice. The in app purchase was worth it to me but the app is good without it. And the new update is great! I'm so glad this app hasn't fallen in to disrepair. This continues to be a manicured and curated app. Much appreciated
This is an "ok" app. If it reloads it sometimes tells you the correct snow totals...but sometimes it tells me "last updated 2013"... Also the UI//UX is pretty terrible. The only really good use of the map was to pull up a trail map mid turn to see if there were some good runs at places I haven't been....but it uses trails maps that are outdated (2011 for winter parks trail map) We will see if the new update that they want me to buy it worth it....
I have used many other snow report apps, but this one blows them away. They get every mountain I would go to and the integration with other snow reporting/weather organizations is fantastic. The Open Snow platform is perfect for timing the powder storms and the app is great for confirm recent snowfall and where the best place to be is (number of lifts open, number of runs, depth of base, etc.) I always recommend this app.
I really like this app. 2nd year using it. They let my .99cents carry over to the next season. The update didn't link the resort website to the isnow report. I get my pow notifications by 6:15 am everyday. I live near a resort that just doesn't report snow totals early or at all. It is however on their website by 7am. I have to exit app to find snow report on the web. Please link it back up. I would kick down money. A+
This is a perfect way to figure out where to ski in CO. Even if you can't get out and ski that day, or worse, if you are in another state, at least it let's you dream of what you could be doing. 2012 has been brutal for snow in CO but next year this app will bring the updates we are all looking for.....24" fresh powder. Grab your boards and leave an out of office saying you have a terrible case of the whatever's.
This is typically a good app. It needs two improvements. First, the timeliness of the reports - it lags behind other apps. Other apps that I use also allow users to post pictures of the mountain, conditions, etc. this would be a good addition. Update-why would I pay you for web cams and pictures when OnTheSnow gives me that for free? Check your competition before asking me for money.
Had to delete... Keeps saying needs an update. Apparently it does. I've gotten it to open successfully about 20% of the time. All other times an 'update needed' button comes up, takes me to App Store where it just says 'open' then crashes and goes to my home screen or just hoes in circles. Very useful when will work. Just frustrating that it won't open most of time.
It would then be a 5 star please add NM.whats rip off since the up grade no live cams and 1/3 of the picture are not showing I know it was only a buck but how could u do this it was better before the rip off.....shame shame shame on you and by the way I rate it a one u can't even get the reviews rite cannot separate from other reviews
I have been using this app for a couple of years now. So this year when the wanted 99 cents to view the web cams I decided to go ahead and pay for it. A week later the app had an update which I installed. Now I no longer have access to the webcams and they want me to pay $1.99 for access now. Total ripoff.
