Having recently lost my job and now hunting for a new one, this app does a good job streamlining my search. It acts like a "meta" search and goes through multiple job listing sites so you do get some repeat results (ie: if the same job opening is posted on 3 different job sites) but it even gets results from job sites I didn't even know existed, so it gets a very VERY wide array of results. You have the choice of searching all listings or "new" listings. "New" listings only brings up listings you haven't looked at already (keep in mind some duplicates do show up if the same opening gets posted across different job sites) making looking for new openings much easier. My FAVORITE feature is the "apply from your tablet" button. You can basically punch all your info (work history, education, contact info, etc) into the app and hit the "apply from your tablet" button. This is a very quick, easy, one-click-and-you're-done application method. The only drawback is that maybe 10% to 20% of the job postings actually support this feature, meaning for 80% to 90% of listings you have to *gasp* actually fill out an app. But for the few listings that support it, this feature is a God-send and makes applying for a job almost too easy. Overall I've been using the app for 4 days now and love it. Generates a lot of results, has the quick-apply feature for some jobs, lets you "favorite" job listings and also email them to yourself or friends. Takes a lot of the work out of finding job listings so you can actually spend more time applying for them!
All the complaints I've been reading have nothing to do with the App or Indeed. What search doesn't have a keyword search? use your location as the key word it will search all Jobs in that area. Salary listing??? are you kidding? 1st of all I almost never see salary listed anywhere unless it's some scheme job "1,000/hr potential". yeah right! 2nd in case you didn't notice the jobs on indeed are pulled from other sites the job listing is actually on as an employer you don't "post" jobs on indeed. As far as not being able to apply to the job 1st , you can for many of them, 2nd most apps send you to the company website and most companies now have much more to complete than just emailing a resume. 3rd there is no way I would ever hire someone who couldn't take the time to sit down at a computer to complete a proper application, I do an area search, email the the interesting jobs to myself or save as a favourite. If your having that much trouble figuring out how to do a job search, and how it all you don't deserve a job!
This app is essential for all job seekers. Create a profile and résumé and link your résumé to your Linked In profile. When you search for jobs - make sure you are signed in. It will save your recent job searches and whenever you click on the app the home page will alert you to new jobs in each search you have recently done. You can save jobs regularly throughout the day until you have a chance to apply from your computer! Then simply log in from your computer - go to your saved jobs and easily apply!! Some jobs are starting to allow you to apply straight from your phone if you already have a profile/résumé. This app is perfect!!! It's the essential tool for every applicant to have to help manage your job search!!
I had been looking for a job for almost 5 months. I applied on Craigslist over 2 dozen times for different jobs. I attended over 15 interviews, but unfortunately I never found "the right job". I was looking for a long term Career position, and Craigslist is just full of "jobs". I was tired of looking for the same type of work, and turned to this app for Career locating work. 15 days after acquiring this app I spot a career that I know I wanted, and a week later I was employed. Thank you indeed jobs for placing me on the right path. Your app is easy to use, and direct.
This app is fantastic; it's easy to use, extremely well laid out ad organized, returns all the information you need, allows you to email the job links ... All the good stuff from the website. If you have an account you can log on with the iPod and use your uploaded documents to apply. I actually prefer the layout of this app to the website format and will use this instead. I love this app. People complaining that they can't go search-to-application-submition all on one mobile device and they need to log onto a real computer are asking way too much.
I really loved this app. Now I can search at any time, no matter where I am. I dont know if Indeed can do this, but if someone can just come up with applying for jobs directly from my iphone, it will be awesome. Now i can only email this job to myself and then when i am on my laptop, I go through and attach my resume and send. If this app can allow to attach my already uploaded resume (apply + pick up resume from my profile (not from iphone) and send - Done!! Isnt it a cool feature!!!
This is a great app, and I would reccomend it to anyone! I especially love the feature in which you can email yourself or a friend a job listing. This app makes searching for jobs sooo much easier that searcing around in the Internet. My only recomendation is that you better refine the search, perhaps give us more options that just zip code which by the way is inaccurate. I searched a nw phoenix zip and got results for jobs in chandler and Scottsdale. Fix that, and I'd say it's perfect!
This is the best Job App I ever used! My brother and hubby both got the best job offers they could hope for after three months on the job hunt with this App! My hubby got about 25 phone screening interviews (from top 500 Fortune companies), five on-site interviews, and the job he wanted. Job hunting is a lot of work. Sure, my brother and hubby had to scroll through 500 new postings everyday even after they set their search parameters, but their efforts paid off.
One problem I have ran across. If I'm in the middle of a search result and I 1)close the app then 2)shut the iPad off. When I come back and try to pickup where I left off. ALL of the search results are gone. Except it starts collecting again at the time I shut it off and displays the results when I reopen the search. My only wish is the job title could be Boolean searched. This is the BAR everyone else should be trying to beat.
This app is a lot better than those others. Not only can you have multiple different job searches at once, but you can sort WITHIN the job searches to view job listings by date, by location, or by relevance. The other ones I've tried do not have any of these features. This app also lets you filter out and only view new jobs posted since the last time you searched. That's a big bonus for me! Great app.
